Dr Dheeraj Buruju

Dr. Dheeraj Buruju has built a distinguished career in psychiatry spanning nearly two decades. After completing his medical degree in India, he undertook both basic and specialist psychiatric training in the United Kingdom, where he achieved Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) in 2010, with a subspecialty focus in addiction psychiatry. He has a strong interest in psychopharmacology and holds an additional qualification in this field.

During his time in the UK, Dr. Buruju gained extensive clinical experience across a broad range of adult mental health settings, including community services, inpatient units, rehabilitation facilities, and general hospitals. He played an active role in the planning, delivery, and transformation of mental health services, demonstrating strong leadership and a commitment to service improvement. His academic contributions include research in schizophrenia and depression, as well as teaching medical students and postgraduate trainees.

After relocating to Australia in 2019, Dr. Buruju was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP), further solidifying his standing as a specialist psychiatrist. His clinical expertise covers a wide spectrum of psychiatric conditions, including:
